So many excellent learning opportunities coming up in the first half of 2011! I just posted about some of the good programs being offered at the Networker Symposium 2011, and now I want to make sure you know about the 23rd Annual Convention of the Association for Psychological Science. The selection of presentations is exciting.
The opening keynote will be given by Giacomo Rizzolatti; it was in his lab that mirror neurons were first discovered. Other plenary talks:
- Minding the Social: From Cognitive Misers to Activated Actors-Susan T. Fiske, Princeton University
- What the Social Brain Says About the Social Mind-Jason Mitchell,Harvard University
- How Primate Cognition Informs Social Cognition-Laurie R. Santos, Yale University
- Core Social Cognition: Insights from Children-Elizabeth S. Spelke, Harvard University
And much, much more: Symposia, Special Events (including a conversation between David Brooks and Walter Mischel), and Award Addresses, to mention just some of what you can see and hear in DC this May. Any of you attending?
