This upcoming event is going to give anyone who needs to negotiate—or to facilitate negotiation—many valuable tools. In November, the Southern California Mediation Association is holding a conference titled
Science of the Mind: Tools for Negotiators
Jeffrey Schwartz and I will be keynoting the event. We will be talking about how you can take control of your reactive brain to allow your reflective mind to negotiate more effectively in resolving disputes and negotiating deals for your clients.
Other topics to be covered during the conference include
- Brain Biology of Fair Behavior
- What Happens When Settlement Negotiations Fail?
- Improvisation Techniques and Skills as an Overlay to Mediation
- Solution Focused Mediation: Quantum Mechanics and Neuroscience: The Power is in the Focus
- The Neuropsychology of Conflict—How the Brain Works in Mediation
- Effective Caucus Strategies: Building on the Work of Dr. Murray Bowen
- Body Language and Facial Expressions
- The Science of Settlement
Looks like November 8 will be an extremely informative and stimulating day. Click for the brochure [pdf] which includes information about the conference, and about the dinner and program on November 7. I hope to see some of you there!
