The International Centre for Healing and the Law is holding a retreat for lawyers, judges, and legal educators October 27 - 29, 2006, in Austin, Texas.
Courage to Lead in the Law
Connecting Who You Are With What You DoExploring the inner aspects of leadership, ethics, and professionalism
Whether practicing solo, part of a firm, in house, for the government, as a judge, or as an educator, attorneys answer the call of the legal profession out of a deep sense of service to people and their problems.
The organization is planning for a "cohort of 25 lawyers" to gather for this three-day retreat to answer these questions:
- How do I continue to practice with integrity, ethics and professionalism in the face of increasing commercialism?
- How do I stay centered on my core values?
- How do I balance life-giving and life-draining aspects of practicing law?
- How can I be an agent for change in the profession and legal institutions?
Attendees will also
re-discover the depths of personal leadership by sharing stories from their own lives, and reflecting on insights from literature and diverse wisdom traditions.
You may download a retreat brochure, register to attend, sign up for the mailing list, and read about other recent Centre events at the How to Connect page at the site.
