Wishing my father a great day out there in sunny California. On this day, I thank him for his warm and always-there love. And for giving me such a passion for learning. And for sometimes being a character. I love you, Dad!
Below I have included a German Shepherd because my dad loves that breed of dog and was raised with one named King. Recently a park in Brentwood, California, was named after the dog. From the Brentwood City Council minutes:
In 1934 the very first Contra Costa County dog license was issued to a dog named “King.” This was a German Shepard owned by Edgar Allen who was the editor/owner of the Brentwood News at the time. This park will have a dog park component in it. The recommended name for this park is King Park. This park will total 3.8 acres.
My dad's very proud of that park. As I am proud of him.
